Severo Ochoa Workshop on Phononics and Thermal Transport

ALBA SYNCHROTRON/ONLINE

October 18-19, 2021

New venue: ALBA Synchrotron

Register before 15 October 2021 at 10 am. We will send you the Zoom link to attend.

Heat transport is becoming increasingly important within the Research Line in Sustainable Energy Conversion and Storage Systems (RL1 at ICMAB).

Besides the fundamental scientific interest, learning how to modulate the heat flow has important applications in conventional electronics (where heat dissipation at the nanoscale is a major issue) or in the design of efficient thermoelectric materials (where materials with low thermal conductivities must be engineered).

The goal of the Severo Ochoa Workshop on Phononics and Thermal Transport (SOPHOT2021) is showcasing some of the most promising achievements in the field, promoting collaborations and bringing together both experimentalists and theoreticians working on these exciting topics.

We hope you can attend and explore the future research in this field.

Hybrid workshop

The workshop will take place in a hybrid format, as we have limitted spaces available at the Seminar Hall at ICMAB. If you cannot make it there, you will be able to follow the talks online. We will send the Zoom link to all of those who have registered through the website.

Opportunity for PhD researchers

If you are a PhD researcher and would like to showcase your research on phononics or thermal transport with a poster or flashtalk, please let us know by contacting us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., once you have registered. Register before 11 October 2021 to be sure you'll have a spot! We will contact you to confirm your registration.
