La recerca científica es fonamenta principalment en el talent i l'activitat que duen a terme els investigadors i investigadores. Però què sabem d’aquestes persones que es dediquen de manera professional a la generació de nous coneixements que poden esdevenir claus per a l’avenç en les capacitats i el desenvolupament econòmic i social de Catalunya? En aquest breu article analitzem els principals trets dels nostre personal investigador basant-nos en tres variables: l’edat, la tisora de gènere i la internacionalització.

Este documento está concebido como una guía práctica que aborda los aspectos fundamentales sobre la organización de los eventos globales de divulgación. A través de sus páginas, se busca responder a preguntas clave acerca de la naturaleza y puesta en marcha de estos eventos: ¿Qué caracteriza a un evento global de divulgación? ¿Cuáles son los principales eventos de este tipo en España? ¿Cómo podemos identificarlos y participar en ellos? ¿Qué soporte y recursos están disponibles? ¿Qué nivel de compromiso es necesario? ¿Cómo podemos planificar la organización de un evento de estas características?

Citation metrics are widely used and misused. We have created a publicly available database of top-cited scientists that provides standardized information on citations, h-index, co-authorship adjusted hm-index, citations to papers in different authorship positions and a composite indicator (c-score). Separate data are shown for career-long and, separately, for single recent year impact. Metrics with and without self-citations and ratio of citations to citing papers are given. Scientists are classified into 22 scientific fields and 174 sub-fields according to the standard Science-Metrix classification.

This report on the Performance of European Partnerships, also known as the Biennial Monitoring Report (BMR), aims to provide a strong evidence base to guide the implementation of partnerships and inform strategic discussions on the effectiveness of the new policy approach to European Partnerships in Horizon Europe and, where relevant, how it should evolve. The report aims to shed light on the progress of partnerships in achieving the EU objectives and targeted impacts both individually and collectively, at EU and national level. Besides the partnerships’ contributions to the green and digital transitions, and resilience, this year’s edition looks at their role in technological sovereignty and international positioning of European R&I.

The purpose of the Observatory is to become the “place to go” for policymakers, organizations and researchers for trustworthy information on R&I talent and careers. The objective is to develop a living information repository for monitoring trends in research and innovation talent development, careers and circulation in EU and OECD countries and other major economies. This action will combine the best of current EU and OECD data in one single place, in addition to collecting new data, while further enhancing their use and relevance for policymakers, organisations, and researchers. The Observatory is currently under development. Data are currently being collected and will be available in the second half of 2025.

This paper explores the geography of “green innovation hubs” and the relationship between green patents and local labour markets. The analysis considers the spatial distribution and evolution of patenting activity for green inventions and identifies green innovation hubs, i.e., regions demonstrating notable strength in green patenting. It also explores the relationship between the regional level of green patenting, economic activity, education, and local labour dynamics across OECD regions.

Examples drawn from around the world showcase successful examples of social entrepreneurship, helping guide innovation policymakers and support schemes to better scale social entrepreneurship ventures for maximum systemic impact.
