El sector de l’ús sostenible de l’aigua engloba totes aquelles activitats i tecnologies que busquen gestionar, distribuir i utilitzar els recursos hídrics de manera eficient i respectuosa amb el medi ambient. L’estudi Informe del sector de l’ús sostenible de l’aigua a Catalunya, elaborat per ACCIÓ en col·laboració amb el Catalan Water Partnership, el clúster català de l’aigua, fa una radiografia de la realitat d’aquest àmbit al nostre país.

This thematic report focuses on the role of science advice in policymaking. By analysing key characteristics of actors, functions and roles, competencies and skills, and incentives it aims to support the description and analysis of national science-for-policy (S4P) ecosystems. This report provides a shared perspective on these ecosystems, helping countries map their systems, identify best practices, and address gaps. It emphasizes the need to enhance collaboration between scientists and policymakers, foster professional competencies, and align incentives to encourage policy-relevant research.

This study, conducted by EPO, examines patent trends in assistive robotics for people with special needs, a field focused on developing robotic systems for daily support, rehabilitation, and recovery. Specifically, the report explores six robotic concepts: collaborative robots (“cobots”), therapeutic robots, robotic walkers, assistive exoskeletons, robotic mobile platforms, and humanoid and pet robots. The report looked at more than 25 000 inventions from over five decades filed by applicants across more than 80 countries.

El Informe CYD analiza la evolución de las universidades en España, evaluando su desempeño a través de indicadores clave de recursos, rendimiento y calidad. La edición de 2024 ofrece una visión general del sistema universitario, con énfasis en la necesidad de modernizar la gobernanza universitaria en sentido amplio para afrontar las siete prioridades estratégicas identificadas en el Informe CYD 2021/2022.

The report highlights an upward trend in women's startup and established business ownership (a business in operation for more than three and a half years) over the past quarter century. GEM, currently celebrating its 25th Silver Anniversary, has provided insight on the state of women’s entrepreneurship since 1999.

European Universities alliances, established after President Macron's 2017 Sorbonne speech and supported by Erasmus+, have become pivotal in advancing the European Education Area (EEA). Comprising 64 alliances and over 560 universities, they drive innovation in teaching, learning, mobility, and research collaboration. Achievements include joint programmes, digital infrastructures, and interoperable systems that foster mobility, micro-credentials, and interdisciplinary research.

Executive summary

The key themes shaping innovation today are concentration and agglomeration. Contrary to popular belief, the world of innovation is far from “flat.” Instead, innovation is heavily concentrated in a select few global hubs that thrive due to their dense networks of scaleups, abundant access to capital, and rich pools of talent.

Energy is at the forefront of WIPO’s third edition of the Green Technology Book. This volume focuses on energy technologies, mitigation and adaptation by looking at solutions for households and communities in cities and rural areas, public spaces and infrastructure, water utilities and farming. The book also looks at options for increasing energy efficiency and introducing new energies in key service areas such health facilities, supermarkets and datacenters.
