En aquest article, ens centrarem en les publicacions científiques, i analitzarem la posició de Catalunya pel que fa a la col·laboració internacional. Ens focalitzarem en tres aspectes que ens ajudaran a conèixer la naturalesa d’aquestes col·laboracions internacionals: els països amb què més copubliquen els nostres investigadors i investigadores, la coautoria en publicacions internacionals amb aquest països en accés obert i les disciplines amb més col·laboració internacional.

Análisis de la participación en Horizonte Europa por comunidades autónomas durante el periodo 2021-2023, en el cual se aprecia una mejora general de los resultados. Cataluña mantiene la primera posición con el 31,5% de fondos, seguida por la Comunidad de Madrid (22,4%), el País Vasco (12,8%), la Comunidad Valenciana (8,2%), y Andalucía (6,1%).

This study has been commissioned by DG EAC to assess the results and impact of the University-Business Cooperation (UBC) activities it has carried out since 2008. The assessment focused on five key initiatives: University-Business Fora (UB Fora), Erasmus+ Knowledge Alliances, HEInnovate, the Labour Market Relevance and Outcomes (LMRO) Partnership Initiative, and the Higher Education for Smart Specialisation (HESS) project. It also provides recommendations for a future UBC framework.

Executive summary

This thematic report presents the learning of the 3rd topic meeting on the successes and Challenges of Public Engagement. The thematic report for Topic 3 “Public engagement in R&I and framework conditions” is based on prior literature, presentations of good examples, and discussions between the Member States’ participants during the third meeting of the Mutual Learning Exercise on Public Engagement in Research and Innovation that took place on 23-24 September 2024 in The Hague, Netherlands. It aims to inspire and help policymakers and public actors to promote and support public engagement in R&I.

A new ERC report explores the transformative potential of CRISPR/Cas technology, analysing 1,297 ERC-funded projects. Of these, 86% advance basic research into biological mechanisms and human diseases, while 14% target applications in agriculture, biotechnology, and medicine.

This report, part of the FUTURINNOV project—a collaboration between the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre and the European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency—provides the second literature review of third-party reports, in a continuous workstream that surfaces periodically cross-sector emerging technologies and breakthrough innovations. It summarises findings in a final selection of 30 signals and trends through an iterative methodology focused on their potential impact and novelty.

Government Venture Capital (GovVC) has emerged as a policy tool to complement private venture capital (Private VC) by funding innovation-driven firms that might not attract traditional VC investment. This study analyses GovVC's role in OECD Member countries using comprehensive data on entrepreneurial firms, investors, and patents, with GovVC entities identified through surveys of ministry experts.

The 2024 GRAS contains rankings of universities in 55 subjects across Natural Sciences, Engineering, Life Sciences, Medical Sciences, and Social Sciences. More than 1,900 out of 5,000 universities across 96 countries and regions are finally listed in the rankings. The GRAS rankings use a range of objective academic indicators and third-party data to measure the performance of world universities in respective subjects, covering in 5 major evaluation categories such as World-Class Faculty, World-Class Output, High Quality Research, Research Impact and International Collaboration. The index of international academic awards is based on Academic Excellence Survey (AES) conducted by ShanghaiRanking.
